The NOAA Office for Coastal Management facilitates the integration of the fellow selection and project selection process by
- receiving and processing the project proposals
- convening panels to evaluate project proposals and potential fellows
- participating in the fellow and project selection panels
- providing logistical and programmatic support during the placement workshop
- coordinating funding for the fellows
- providing support and guidance to the fellows and mentors throughout the two-year fellowship
State Coastal Zone Management Programs provide assistance and participate by
- submitting project proposals
- hosting fellows to work on state projects
- identifying a source for the $15,000 cost share for the two-year fellowship
Digital Coast Partnership Organizations provide assistance and participate by
- submitting project proposals
- hosting fellows to work on projects that advance the goals of the Digital Coast and its partner organizations
- identifying a source for the $15,000 cost share for the two-year fellowship
The Sea Grant College Program provides assistance and support by
- interviewing fellowship applicants in the initial selection process
- endorsing candidates for the program
- participating in the fellow and project selection panels
The Coastal States Organization provides assistance by
- participating in the fellow and project selection panels
